The Invisible Bruise
The Invisible Bruise was produced as part of the Artist As Changemaker Cohort at Trico Changemaker Studios for Sagesse, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending domestic violence. The Invisible Bruise follows three couples as they undergo a form of often (but not always) non-physical abuse known as "coercive control."
These stories were produced entirely as Zoom calls. These very short (3-4 minute) calls are both dramatic and poignant. The calls underscore the ways in which the pandemic intensified the challenges of those caught in the cycle of the subtle, not-always-obvious aspects of coercive control.
